What kind of files should I upload?

We recommend PNG or PDF files with transparent backgrounds and 300 DPI resolution.

Can I gang multiple designs on one sheet?

Absolutely. We encourage it. Use our gang sheet template to maximize your value.

How long do DTF transfers last?

With proper application and care, DTF transfers can last 70 washes or more. For best results, wash garments inside out with cold water and tumble dry on low or air dry. Premium transfers printed by CHIPS have been tested to last over 100 washes with minimal fading or cracking.

What is the proper technique to heat press DTF transfers?

🔧 Preparation
1. Pre-press the garment
Recommended Press Time for 5–10 seconds at light pressure to remove moisture and flatten fibers.
This gives the transfer a smooth surface and prevents steam from weakening adhesion.

 

🔥 Heat Press Settings (general range)
Temperature: 300–325°F (300 ideal). For 100% polyester 265-275°F (recommended)
Time: 8-10 seconds
Pressure: Medium-firm (40–60 psi on an air press, or enough to firmly compress the transfer on a manual press)

 

✋ Pressing Technique
1. Lower the platen smoothly – avoid shifting.
2. Press for full dwell time – do not open early.
3. Peel correctly:
Hot peel film → peel immediately in a smooth, steady motion at 45° angel. May need to wait a few seconds if not pressed with correct pressure.

 

✨ Finishing Step (Highly Recommended)
After peeling, place parchment paper or a Teflon sheet over the design.
Re-press for 5–8 at the same temp with light pressure.
This locks in durability, smooths the finish, and improves wash resistance.

 

✅ Pro Tips
If edges lift: increase pressure slightly or add 2–3 seconds to press time.
If design looks shiny or scorched: reduce temperature slightly or shorten time.
Always test new transfers on scrap garments before full runs.
